Saturday 16th. January 2016. Lodge Glamis No. 99
A Deputation from Grand Lodge headed by Bro. Charles Iain Robert Wolrige Gordon of Esslemont carried out the re-dedication to mark the 250th. Anniversary of the founding of the Lodge in 1735. It was a further 30 years before the Lodge was Chartered by the Grand Lodge. The Lodge has provided three Grand Master Masons and most importantly in 1936 The Duke of York (the future King George VI) was affiliated into the Lodge which enabled him to become Grand Master Mason of Scotland. The historical photo which hangs in our Lodge shows the future Grand Master (and King) sitting on a bench outside the Lodge room with members of Grand Lodge , Provincial and Lodge Glamis No. 99. The photo was replicated at the re-dedication , using the same bench that was used in the original photo
